Remarkably good attendance

  More troublesome than ever
An amusing 'boys will be boys' entry from the records of the Llanidloes National School as recorded in the School Log Book is shown below.

Written on 13th December 1878, this notes that:
"Late coming more troublesome than ever because of the children staying on the road to slide".

It is also hard not to smile at the next entry from Christmas 1882.

From 21st December 1882, this note in the log book reads:
"The attendance has been remarkably good this week. Nearly every boy and girl on the Books have been present, cause - expecting prizes or presents to be distributed".
