Llanidloes National School 4
The Prime Minister passes through

Mr Baldwin goes to the seaside
Another diversion for the children of Llanidloes National School was recorded in the School Log Books in 1928.
This was a rare chance for schoolchildren living a long way from London to see the Prime Minister of the day, Stanley Baldwin, driving past their school.

This entry was written on 26th October 1928, and reads:
"The Prime Minister (Mr Stanley Baldwin) passed through Llanidloes on Wednesday morning 24th October 28 at about 11 o'clock, on his way from Llandinam to Aberystwyth to receive the Freedom of that Seaside Borough. As his car passed slowly by the school the children cheered the Prime Minister, and Mr Baldwin waved acknowledgment".
