School log book entry 
  This entry was made on 26th November 1897, and reads:
"An irregular attendance this week, owing to the cold, wet days, and the state of health of many of the little ones, who seem unfit to brave the elements".

The entry above is dated 10th February 1919, and reads:
"The attendance today is very poor, children are still suffering from colds etc, and the weather is bitterly cold. Children coughing incessantly. Owing to the small number present, the little ones were dismissed and the attendances cancelled".
A log book entry written on 23rd September 1887 noted :
"Began to teach the children a new song "Oh, where do you come from, you little drops of rain".
