A plum pudding lesson

There are often amusing and revealing little comments to be found amongst the more serious material in School Log Books.

The example above was recorded on 13th December 1929:
"Plum pudding distributed amongst the Infants. These puddings had been made at school previously, during a lesson on "The Plum Pudding".

In 1898 there is a record of a new toy for the teacher.

He was obviously delighted with his 'splendid' new desk, and recorded this entry on 30th September 1898:
"Received today for use of school, a splendid "Teachers desk". It is a most useful one being fitted with drawers, cupboard etc."
