Llanidloes National School - Infants 3
Fearfully wet and stormy

Too deep for the little ones
As with all Montgomeryshire schools, references to the weather always feature regularly in the School Log Books of this rural upland county. The youngest children from the Infants School were often unable to get to school in bad weather.

A typical example recorded on 11th February 1889 is shown above:
"School closed today. A heavy fall of snow prevented the little ones from coming to school, it being too deep for them to wade through it".
