The above extract reads:
"The school was closed for the afternoon to enable the master
to attend to the sale of his household effects, as he cannot
secure a suitable home in the neighbourhood, convenient to the
school. The house in which he lived was bought by a wealthy farmer
& the Master has had to turn out to enable the farmer to
take possession for his own use, although he is the tenant of
two farms in the parish, and he lives in neither of them. The
want of a schoolhouse is now keenly felt, and the authorities
should be compelled to see that a Master has some security of
tenure without having his domestic arrangements upset in this
way after 29 years."
Mr Davies' last years
Mr Davies' career was not over however and later he was given
a new appointment in the locality.

"Resigned my position as Headmaster of this school
after 32 years service, having been appointed to the Headmastership
of the Rhayader Senior School".
His wife, who also taught at Cwmdeuddwr, was to continue
there despite indifferent health until she had served for 35
years.
