Llanidloes street life 6
The store on the corner

  A delivery for the Co-op
The picture below shows the Llanidloes Co-operative Society store on the corner of Long Bridge Street and Short Bridge Street. The premises were built in 1871 and became known, unsurprisingly, as the Corner Shop.

Co-operative Stores

The shop became the Co-operative Stores after 1916, and it seems likely that this picture dates from the early years of the new ownership. The staff are lining up for the photographer at the time of a new delivery.
This photo would have been taken from the archways of the Market Hall at the centre of the road junction.
