The picture on this page is an early image of the people of Llanidloes out and about in Long Bridge Street, probably around the early 1880's. It was taken from the upper level of the Market Hall at the centre of the town.

The buildings on the left include the Unicorn and the Red Lion Hotels, and the former Trade Hall with the drapery store of Morris & Sons is on the right.
This view towards the River Severn is not greatly changed today.
