Llanidloes street life 5
Coal by donkey cart

  Billy 'Doodle' delivers
Another wonderful image of times past in Llanidloes is shown here. This is a picture of Billy "Doodle" delivering sacks of coal in a cart pulled by two donkeys, and the photograph is thought to have been taken in 1900.

The scene is of Smithfield Street, which was at the southern edge of the town at that time. The National School, built in 1845, was quite close to the weavers houses pictured here.
