Great Oak Street, c1900

  Pause for a picture
A wonderfully evocative picture of street life in Llanidloes around 1900. The tradesman's cart is in Great Oak Street, in front of what was then the shop of Evan Williams, ironmonger.

The first of the small shops in the row behind was that of Lewis Jones, a tailor. This part of Great Oak Street is now the site of the Town Hall, which was built in 1908.
