 A happy time
Like children all over the UK, the children of Cwmbelan School celebrated the joy of victory over Nazi Germany and the relief that this must have brought to all their families.

  This final entry from the School Log Book, dated July 1964, records the decision to close the school taken during the holiday so that there can have been no special end of term ceremony.

"July 17th. School closed for the summer vacation. One pupil, Angela Rose Howells leaving to attend Llanidloes High School.
During the holiday it was decided not to reopen the school after the summer Holiday."
With this simple entry, school life in the village of Cwmbelan came to an end.
