The Wesleyans As in many communities, chapel life was at the heart
of village activities until recent times. Schools tended to go
along with the rhythms of the chapel year or face empty classrooms
at certain times. The following entry is from the School Log
Book for June 1879.
Cwmbelan School
Log Book
"Attendance small this week-holiday on Wednesday as meeting
being held by the Baptists in the village at which most of the
children attended." In October 1902 both Cwmbelan's chapels were active.

"As Tuesday was the Wesleyan Thansgiving and an ammendment
had been made, the registers were not marked only 15 children
present.
Registers not marked on Monday on account of the Baptist Thanksgiving."
