Taking the waters
Your carriage awaits | ||
This photograph was taken around 1910, so it comes well into the Edwardian rather than the Victorian years. But it is included here because it is a fascinating picture which shows the form of transport used by many visitors to Llandrindod Wells during much of the late Victorian period. |
Carriages
for hire around 1910 |
The picture was taken at the Trefonen
Lane workshop of a blacksmith called Charles Jones. The services he provided
included the hiring out of horses and carriages
for local tours, and also the much smaller pony carts shown here. Back to 'taking the waters' menu
