  Wagons roll in Broad Street

This photograph of Broad Street, Hay, was taken around 1900. The view is looking south towards the Clock Tower.
Although the town looks busy this was unlikely to have been taken on Market Day, since livestock was traded in Broad Street until the cattle market was built at the other side of the town.

The photograph was taken from almost the same place as another early view of Broad Street in this set of pictures, and can be compared with the modern photograph of the scene today which can be seen on that page.
