Taverns and stagecoaches

  More flannel tradesmen
Like the fullers on the previous pages, the wool carders and wool card makers are involved in preparing the cloth for the flannel industry. The presence of saddlers, blacksmiths and wheelwrights is a reminder of the importance of the horse for transport, and the details of the carriers and regular services by horse-drawn coaches emphasis the need for well maintained roads.
