Mae cofnodion swyddogol y llys yn 1855 yn dangos bod Harriet Phillips wedi ymuno yn yr ymosodiad ar Jane Lloyd yn Llanfair-ym-Muallt ar 28ain o Orffennaf... |

"Harriet Phillips is convicted before the undersigned, two of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said County, for that on the 28th day of June last at the parish of Builth in the County of Brecon one Mary Cooke of the parish of Builth aforesaid, did unlawfully and violently assault and beat one Jane Lloyd, the wife of John Lloyd, Labourer, of the parish of Builth aforesaid. And that the said Harriet Phillips did then and there incite and aid the said Mary Cooke to commit the said offence". |
Mae rhan gyntaf y cyhuddiad yn erbyn
Harriet Phillips bron yr un fath â'r ddogfen sydd ar y dudalen ddiwethaf,
sef yr achos yn erbyn Mary Cooke. Cafodd y ddwy wraig eu cyhuddo o ymosod
ar Jane Lloyd, ond yn ôl bob golwg Mary wnaeth y rhan fwyaf o'r curo,
gyda Harriet yn ei helpu a'i hannog (incite). Ystyr y gair annog yw cymell
neu hybu rhywun i wneud rhywbeth. |
