  Llangorse Lake

Like many surviving Victorian and Edwardian photographs, this picture was reproduced as a souvenir postcard sold to visitors to the attractive countryside of mid-Wales.
This card featured a peaceful view looking across Llangorse Lake, which was a popular attraction when the new Victorian railways made it much easier for holidaymakers to explore the district.

The lake at Llangorse is the largest natural expanse of open water in south Wales, although the Victorians created impressive new "lakes" in the Elan Valley and at Lake Vyrnwy through their remarkable dam building projects.
