part of the parish of Trefeglwys is mountainous and fairly remote. Compare
the graph with those for Carno and Llanwnog. Is the overall trend the same? The government report which published the figures of the 1871 census said that the population had risen then because a new lead mine had opened. Why do you think the population fell at the end of the period? |
