Llanidloes There was a tragic railway accident
in 1899 at Tylwch, which is to the
south of Llanidloes and close to the border between Montgomeryshire and
Radnorshire. The railway line has now been closed
for years. The old railway station
building is now a private house, and Tylwch is now a peaceful
little community situated in a very attractive valley, but over a hundred
years ago it was the scene of one of the early disasters which occasionally
happened with the huge growth in the railway
network during the Victorian age. More about

which was on the road from Llanidloes to Rhayader.
