  Deliveries in Great Oak Street

This picture shows a two-wheeled delivery cart in Great Oak Street, Llanidloes. It was probably taken around 1899, at the end of the Victorian period.
The shop behind the cart was then Evan Williams the Ironmonger, and the first shop in the row beyond it was that of Lewis Jones the tailor.

The row of buildings beyond the cart did not last for long after this picture was taken, because they were knocked down in the early 1900's to make room for the new Town Hall.
The Ironmongers shop in this photograph later became the Milk Bar.
