Sergeant Flye told the Court that little Elizabeth had told his wife, Ann Flye, that her mother had been given the missing purse of gold coins. Parts of the sergeant's statement are shown here...

"[My wife...] came out of the Cell from the prisoner's daughter and from the information she gave me I locked up the prisoner [Margaret Price] on suspicion of having received the purse and money from her daughter Elizabeth Price knowing the same to have been stolen..."
After getting more information from young Elizabeth, Sergeant Flye then went to the Price's house...

"I searched the prisoner's father's house and found in a box there two Sovereigns and the several new articles of wearing apparel I now produce..."
