Electronic Imaging For Schools in Powys
In 1995/1996 the County Archives Office - with the support
of staff in the Corporate Information Technology Unit - worked
on a short term pilot project to produce presentations on local
history themes using scanned images of relevant documents from
the archives, together with interpretative text. Two communities
were covered: Crickhowell and Newtown.
This first presentation explores crime and punishment in Montgomeryshire
by focusing in detail on the documents relating to one particular
case and putting them in a social and historical context. It is
designed especially to be of use to students on the GCSE History
course.
