The photographs on this page show the very beautiful setting of the tiny community of Tylwch as it appears today, long after the closure of the railway line which passed through the valley.

  The former station building, now a private house, is pictured above left, and the cutting below the road bridge is shown on the right.
A little beyond the point in the photograph below, seen from the bridge over the track, the line of the Cambrian Railway ran right alongside the River Dulas.

Two once important local industries were represented close to this area with a former woollen mill on the river bank between the railway line and the river, and the long disused West Fedw lead mine also nearby.
