During Victorian
times the canal was used by people for boating and punting,
especially during the summer. This picture shows a small boat on In the 1793 Brecon Canal Act it was specified that pleasure boats were not to be more than 5 feet (about 1.5 metres) wide, and not more than twelve feet (about 3.5 metres) long. They were not to be charged a toll for using the canal, but were not allowed to pass through the locks. |
