Victorian transport
  Transport around Talgarth and district

At the beginning of Queen Victoria's reign transport in this and other parts of Powys depended completely on the horse. The wealthy could travel in their own carriages, and many others could afford to pay to travel on the stage coaches.
But very few working people could afford this, so most could only travel as far as they could walk.

By the end of the Victorian years, the steam railways had connected the district with places much further afield. And by that time more of the local people were were just beginning to have the freedom and money to travel.
