  Kelly's Directory 1895: Talgarth - 6

Here is the final entry for the community of Talgarth.
As well as the inns and public houses in Talgarth we can see a new kind of accommodation being offered.
Mrs Williams of West View and Mrs Williams of Neuaddfelen both have apartments for visitors. Travelling by railway to have a holiday in the dramatic Black Mountain scenery was becoming popular.

The publishers of the directory were unused to Welsh names and so there are some unusual spellings at times! Can you recognise any of them ?
Don't forget!
The surnames are first

We can see also another two of the boot and shoe makers who were so busy in the Victorian countryside.

Most people got their working boots and shoes from local shoemakers like Moses and William Williams.
