In this photograph, taken around 1900 at the end of the Victorian years, the Lewis family and their shop staff have lined up to have their picture taken.
The shop was a bakers and confectionery business in Bridge Street, Rhayader.

The original picture has been captioned with the names of six of the Lewis family members, including Lewis Lewis on the right.
The gentleman in between the two groups of three ladies is Rees E Lewis. The name of the dog was not supplied !
In a trade directory published in 1906 the business is listed as Lewis Brothers, grocers and bakers.
