Mary Jones is 34 on the 1891 census and recorded as being "dumb from childhood". Having no occupation and nobody to look after her she entered the workhouse in 1885 at the age of 28. The extract below is taken from a register of inmates. |
Senile decay - very poor state of health caused by old age. | |

| In 1937 she was still an inmate and died of "senile decay" at the age of 80. The following is taken from the Register of Deaths for Llanfyllin workhouse. She is buried in Llanfyllin cemetery. |
