again we can see that a lot of local people have adapted to meet the needs
of the growing spa, letting out apartments
to visitors.
Notice also that the growing town has a chemist Mr Rhys Caradoc Prytherch. By 1895 medical knowledge had improved a lot and the medicines available at the chemists were more effective and could be afforded by more people. A great many poor people still could afford them however and herbal remedies were still popular.
