Llanwrtyd and district

  Llangammarch Wells

The Victorian spas of mid-Wales were a little bit like the 'holiday camps' which were to become popular many years later.
They tried to attract visitors by providing boating lakes, landscaped gardens, tennis courts, golf courses, croquet lawns and other features to go with the natural hills and woodlands of the district.
Some views of the choices available to visitors to Llangammarch Wells in the heyday of the spas are shown here.
