Knighton and district

  Looking westward into Wales  
 

Unusually the picture below shows the small border town of Knighton from the east.
Again this picture emphasises the rural nature of the town set in its meadows and trees. We are looking up the Teme valley with the hills on the left of the picture in Wales, and those on the right in England.

Again we can see the parish church clearly on the right. As this detail from the picture (right) shows we can actually see the houses and buildings running up the slope of Broad Street.

Pictures like this give us an idea of what this border town must have looked like in early Victorian times.
