The picture below is an engraving from the early 19th century. Like the other prints of Knighton in this section, it was made to sell to travellers and holiday makers as a memento of a visit.
The artist was probably standing on Garth Hill to draw the picture.

  Notice how the drawing shows what a small country town Knighton was at this time. Much of it is hidden in the trees.
Again the artist has emphasised the great bulk of Panpunton Hill with its quarries and woodland just over the border.
The one Knighton building which is easily recognisable is the parish church. .
