Tregoed and Felindre was originall part of another parish but became a parish in its own right during the Victorian period. Like most of the neighbouring rural parishes it includes the richer Wye valley farm lands and great areas of mountain pasture. The main route down the Wye valley runs through the parish and brought benefits to local people especially after the railway opened.
