population graph for Maesmynis

The actual recorded figures for the population of the parish were:-
  In the year 1841 - 252 people
In the year 1851 - 234
In the year 1861 - 239
In the year 1871 - 227
In the year 1881 - 213
In the year 1891 - 221
In the year 1901 - 207

Like Llanddewi'r Cwm, this parish is an upland area of small farms with sheep on the hills, but close enough to Builth to allow for some local people to travel there to work. The figures for 1841 include the weavers living at Nant-yr-arian which is just inside the parish. Away from Builth just about everbody in the parish would have been involved in working on the land or like the miller and the blacksmith providing a service to the farmer.

Compare this graph with those of other parishes in the area.
Is the overall trend the same?
If the trend differs, in what way does it differ?
