The "Tick-Tock" factory made a remarkable contribution to the economy of the Upper Swansea Valley and enriched its community spirit and its cultural life.

The fact that the factory's products have been sold all over the world is a tribute to the dedication and skill of all those who worked at Ystradgynlais, and to the high standards which they set and achieved. 

Mansel Jones has first-hand knowledge of life at the "Tick-Tock", having worked there as an engineer for many years. His enthusiasm for the factory, and for tracing and recording its history, has led him to compile this collection of reminiscences by past employees. It will provide a valuable and lasting historical record of this remarkable factory, and of the men and women who made it a success.

I congratulate Mansel Jones on his research, and am sure that many people in Wales and further afield will enjoy the results of his work.
