The County School 2
Domestic lessons for girls

advert for County SchoolClimate of the times
A Borough Guide to Machynlleth from the years before the Great War is proud to include the newly established County School among its entries

This entry for the school is keen to establish the schools academic credentials along the lines of a traditional English grammar school.

It is very much an indication of the climate of the times that the advertisement makes clear that girl pupils are not to be prepared for university, the professions or commercial life.
